As Durham and North Carolina cautiously join other states in reopening its businesses we are delighted to announce that we will reopen Morehead Manor on Monday, June 1, 2020. After many weeks of “Sheltering in Place,” we are looking forward to welcoming guests. We have missed welcoming guests! I’m sure that many of you, like us, have been experiencing cabin fever and are excited and looking forward to venturing outside the confines of your home to see and do some of the things that you have been missing over the past few weeks. Well, we are here for you. The COVID-19 Pandemic is not over yet but we have been diligently working to be able to offer you a place of respite while updating our protocols as suggested by health officials to help reduce the spread of the virus. We are a small property and cleanliness has always been a priority for us here at the Manor, the COVID-19 virus has just heightened our awareness and prompted us to take extra precautions to help keep us and our guests safe. We have joined other small inns in promoting the “Stay Safe, Stay Small” initiative and with the help of our Marketing/IT partner Acorn Internet Services, they’ve created the perfect logo for us to use as you see above.
You can make your reservation today by clicking Here or give us a call at 919-687-4366.
What to expect during your stay with us…..
The state of North Carolina is currently in Phase 1 as of May 8th with the hope of moving on to Phase 2 by the end of May. While the city of Durham is opening up in phases, many places like restaurants are only currently open for curbside pick-up, state and local parks, nature trails and some retailers are open to the public. As we move forward we expect that other businesses and visitor sites will continue to open. As confusing and everchanging as it may be…..here in Durham, you are asked to “socially distance” yourself by standing at least 6 feet from others when in public spaces and you are required to wear a face mask. As a guest here at the inn we ask that you adhere to these policies as well.
As mentioned previously we have always been sticklers for cleanliness, in addition to our normal procedures we will do the following:
- Frequently disinfecting “High” touch areas
- Providing Hand sanitizer and/or disinfectant wipes in our common areas
- Suspending nightly turndown and daily room cleaning services
- Quarantining rooms between guest stays
- Removing unnecessary soft goods and other items from the guest rooms to prevent cross-contamination
- Adding signage to remind you to take extra precautions when visiting the inn’s common areas
- Schedule breakfast times to ensure social distancing while dining
- Providing individually wrapped desserts and snacks for our guests
Our request of you…..
As Innkeepers providing hospitality is our specialty. We love spending time with our guests, sharing our story, and acting as ambassadors to our area. It’s pretty hard to do these things while socially distancing, but we will remain accessible for our guests. We ask that you practice social distancing and wear a mask in the common areas of the inn.
We ask that you inform us when booking or when you become aware if:
- You are exhibiting any of the symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19
- You have been in contact with anyone exhibiting any of the symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID-19
- You are under quarantine for COVID-19
- You are traveling from a location under a current “stay home” or “stay in place” order
These are just a few things that we are doing to safeguard you while visiting with us.
Please note that we are unable to provide PPE (mask and/or gloves) for our guests at this time and that we ask that you bring the items that you may need with you.
We are adjusting to these “New” norms for travel and lodging like you and ask that you be patient with us during this time. We are taking additional cleaning and social distancing measures here at Morehead Manor to protect our guests and community from COVID-19. However, due to ongoing changes in the nature of this virus, its methods of transmission, and the difficulty of early diagnosis, we cannot guarantee your complete safety while staying with us here at Morehead Manor. We are therefore unable to accept any liability for infection by COVID-19 that may occur as a result of your stay at Morehead Manor. You, therefore, confirm that your stay with us here at Morehead Manor Bed and Breakfast is at your own risk in relation to COVID-19.
If you have questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to email us info@moreheadmanor.com or call 919-687-4366. And remember #staysafestaysmall and #bookdirect at Moreheadmanor.com
We look forward to offering you respite in the near future!
